Understanding your default timezone

Your Salesbricks account uses UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) as the default setting. Using UTC as a default ensures consistency in timing across different regions.

All customer interactions, like contract start dates and invoice generation, are based on UTC with no timezone offsets. If you’re located in San Francisco, you’ll see invoices sent out at 4:00 PM on the previous day, due to the 8-hour time difference.

However, to better match your local business hours, you can configure your company to a specific timezone. For example, setting it to San Francisco time means that contracts and invoices align with your local midnight.

Setup

To adjust your timezone, go to Settings -> Finance and select the desired timezone. Keep in mind that changing this setting will not affect existing orders; once an order is closed, it remains locked to the timezone it was originally processed in. This helps avoid issues like lapses or duplications in coverage.

Important note for submitting usage data

When submitting usage for an order, make sure to send the correct local time, as the system is not expecting UTC by default in this scenario.
